Moschino Perfume Guide: Feel Like an Italian Donna (Lady)

Latest posts by Caroline Lambert (see all)

Opportunities come but once in a while, and this Moschino Perfume Guide will show you how one of four eccentric donnas can become your new signature fragrance. Each perfume range suits specific women, and I’ll break the scents down to their bare roots to help you choose your favorite one.

Moschino designs some of the most eclectic and outrageous perfumes, but you might just find that outrageous is what makes you stand above the rest. The luxury Italian brand isn’t afraid to experiment with wildly adventurous ingredients, and I simply love the new Toy range, especially the Toy 2 Bubblegum.

It might seem a little young for me, but I love wearing my favorite Moschino perfume when I want to feel unapologetic, vibrant, mysterious, and outright unsound. It’s one of the boldest perfumes I own, and my partner doesn’t mind the eccentricity of it.

Moschino has a wide range of perfumes, meaning you’re bound to find one that tickles your imagination and inner fairy.

Romanesque Roots

Franco Moschino was an eccentric man who loved fairies and everything glamorous. Born in Lombardy, close to Milan, Italy, Moschino ran away from home when he was 18 to pursue his eclectic passions in Milan at the famed fashion school: Marangoni Institute. He worked as a freelance fashion illustrator to fund his studies.

Moschino became an illustrator for Gianni Versace in 1971 before finding his own company called Moonshadow in 1983, where he launched the original Moschino Couture fashion line. He first designed jeans and casualwear before expanding to lingerie, shoes, evening wear, and perfumes.

Brazenly, Moschino launched a new line called Cheap & Chic in 1988, aimed at a more affordable market. His brand was already a luxury icon, so he designed quilted denim miniskirts and plug-socket drop earrings to sell cheaper than his luxury line. Additionally, he also launched perfumes under the Cheap & Chic range.

Moschino’s designs were eccentric beyond average, which made him stand among top-ranking designers like Chanel and Jean Paul Gaultier. The Moschino fashion house quickly became known as a colorful and innovative line in the 1990s. You could almost see the fairy inspiration in his work, perfumes, and clothing.

Moschino designed fashion for Kylie Minogue, Madonna, Lady Gaga, and the opening ceremony of the 2006 Winter Olympics. His Italian luxury brand launched four different perfume ranges over the years, each catering to another type of woman or donna.

Moschino: Why You Should Choose it

Choosing a perfume from the myriad of brands available is challenging. Ask me; I have nearly all of them. Moschino is also in my collection, but it’s special to me for two reasons. Firstly, the customer feedback sold me on the brand long ago. Secondly, the versatility of its perfumes is unmatched by most luxury brands.

What Consumers Say

One reason to choose Moschino perfume is that they’re popular among verified consumers on Amazon. Sure, every fragrance has trolls, and everyone’s allowed their opinion, but Moschino perfumes have a long-standing approval rating and recommendation record from people who purchase the brand.

Moschino Cheap & Chic I Love Love receives compliments everywhere the wearer ventures, as you can see in this raving review from 2017. This donna loves the attention she gets from her perfume, and she compares it to Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue.

Moschino Toy 2 EDP intrigued Mr. Woodruff enough to buy one for his wife. He thought it was so precious that it showed his appreciation for her, and it turns out she loved it. What a special guy!

Moschino Gold Fresh Couture is another perfume rated highly, and this woman recommends that you add it to your collection now! She describes it as a seductively feminine fragrance, and she must do so for a reason.

Moschino Pink Fresh Couture leaves impressions and builds reputations, as you can see from this raving review from Maria. She promises to remain a loyal customer of this incredible perfume.

Last but not least, Moschino by Moschino for Women struck gold with Linda S. She’s so engulfed with the fragrance that she wore it for 25 years! By the looks of it, it’s special enough for her to continue wearing it.

Moschino manufactures many perfumes, some discontinued and only available on Amazon, while others are still available on the Moschino website, but there are too many to show you how loved the Italian brand is among perfume enthusiasts. These five perfumes have raving reviews on Amazon, but there are more.

Inspirational Bottles and Ranges

Moschino spares no imaginative expense with its bottles. The Fresh Couture range looks like a liquid detergent spray bottle, but the Toy range is the one that captures my attention. The bear-shaped bottles are gorgeous, making you feel like a young woman bound for an adventure. Most intriguing from Moschino are the ranges.

Moschino perfume has four significant ranges, which I’ll call donnas.

  • Moschino Donna Range 1: The Toys (young, exuberant, adventurous, naughty, and unapologetic)
  • Moschino Donna Range 2: Cheap & Chic (affordable, cheeky, popular, modern, chic, and seductive)
  • Moschino Donna Range 3: Fresh Couture (vibrant, energetic, contemporary, bold, and in-your-face)
  • Moschino Donna Range 4: The Classics (innocent, sweet, fairy-like, lady-like, sophisticated in a modern way, and timeless)

Knowing how famous Moschino perfume is and how versatile it can be across ages and personalities means you’re ready to see what’s on offer. Each scent will also have recommended alternatives that smell similar and have the same notes or accords to make choosing yours easier.

Moschino Donna 1 Range: The Toys

The toy range is naughty, provocative, and adventurous, right down to the core. It also feels young, cheeky, and unapologetic because women want to smell like a walking attraction and want everyone to remember their wake.

Moschino Toy 2 EDP

Moschino Toy 2 EDP

Moschino Toy 2 is a 2018 olfactory perfume from the flowery, woody family by the brilliant minds of Alberto Morillas and Fabrice Pellegrin. Choosing Your Moschino Perfume

Choosing your favorite Moschino perfume is about considering two things: what type of donna you want to be and what notes and smells work for you? Remember that each donna range suits certain age groups better, and the fragrances in each one have specific qualities, seen in the four ranges at the beginning of this article.

Choose the Italian lady you’d like to be, whether you want the eccentricity of Moschino fairies or the modern-sophistication of classics, and you’ll only be left to choose which smells turn you into a loyal customer. Use the accords of each perfume to see how the notes evolve throughout the time you wear them.

Bonus Tip: You can also smell Moschino perfumes at authorized outlets like Walmart, Nordstrom, and Macy’s, but always clean your sensual palette before smelling the next one. Use strong coffee beans between smelling each perfume to make sure you get the true fragrance of each.

Italian Secrets for Better Perfuming

Italian Secrets for Better Perfuming

Moschino perfume is an exciting journey for the senses, and you only need one secret to make them smell like a dream on your skin: to use the complementary products that make the smell last longer.

  • Moschino Toy 2 Bubblegum bath and shower gel prepares your skin for perfume
  • Moschino Toy 2 shower gel also prepares your skin for better perfuming
  • Moschino Toy 2 body lotion moisturizes your skin before spraying perfume

Advanced Complementary Product: Moschino Toy 2 Bubblegum hair mist can make the scent last much longer because hair retains a smell longer than skin.

Bonus Secret: Perfume has a shelf-life, even the luxury brands. Damaged perfume can smell awful, so make sure you’re using an organizer to store your favorites properly.

European Alternatives

_Burberry Her Perfume Guide

Each Moschino perfume has recommended alternatives should you not love the ranges, but you can also opt for alternative brands by sticking to other European luxury perfume companies. After all, some of the best luxury perfume brands are European, especially French, Italian, and British.

FAQs

Question: Which is the Original Moschino Perfume for Women?

Answer: Franco Moschino launched the original Moschino by Moschino in 1987. It’s an amber Fougére fragrance with unusual ingredients like honeysuckle, marigold, carnation, and plum. It smells like you’re strolling through a fruity orchid before your senses are gripped by evolving aromatic teasers.

Question: Are Moschino Toy Range Perfumes Unisex?

Answer: Moschino consumers are often confused because the original 2014 Moschino Toy perfume was unisex. Some people believe Toy 2 is another unisex fragrance, but that depends on personal preferences. Moschino perfumes are wildly feminine, meaning they won’t work for heterosexual or metrosexual men.

Question: What Does Moschino Cheap & Chic I Love Love Smell Like?

Answer: Moschino Cheap & Chic I Love Love is a woody, floral, and musky fragrance with naughty redcurrant and grapefruit notes that dry down to traditionally fresh and floral scents that elevate lily of the valley, freesia, and bulrush before the perfume ends in an olfactory setting of musk and woody undertones.

Moschino Perfume Guide: Final Thoughts

Moschino was a boldly eccentric man, much to my preferences. Eccentricity is the gateway to a trending style or smell. Brands would never discontinue perfumes if scents remained timeless. Admittedly, some sensual pleasures are timeless, and we’ll wear them for generations to come, but most aren’t capable of defeating time.

There will always be new notes, noses, and brands competing to earn our trust and love. Moschino strives to keep trending and eclectic perfumes flooding the market. If it’s not the quirky bottle designs, it’s the smell of each donna range speaking to our deepest desires. I highly recommend trying a Moschino perfume today.

My favorite is still Moschino Toy 2 Bubblegum, but you must choose one according to your donna personality and age. A boomer will smell funny if she wears my favorite, but a Gen z will lavish in the sensual journey.
