Rihanna Perfume Guide: My Top 5 Perfumes to Add to Your Collection

If you want an affordable perfume and to smell like Rihanna then read this guide about Rihanna’s top five perfumes to help find your signature scent.

With her first Reb’l Fleur perfume released in 2010, Rihanna has now released 11 perfumes. The collection house Parlux has helped Rihanna create signature perfume scents that have impressed fans for over a decade. While many of her perfumes have now been discontinued, there are still ways to buy these scents and become part of the ‘RiRi’ perfume family.

But First, Rihanna?

Rihanna was once a rising pop star in the late naughties but now she has turned into a powerful businesswoman with many rising ventures.

With her brands Savage Fenty X, Fenty, Fenty Skin, and Fenty Beauty, Rihanna has now reached millionaire status. Adored by fans all over the globe it’s no wonder her perfumes were a commercial success.

But Who is She?

Born in Barbados, Rihanna rose to fame in 2006 with her dance-pop hits and released multiple award-winning albums. Since 2018 she has been on a music hiatus, focusing on her business ventures.

Rihanna’s Brands

Rihanna has four major brands she has created:

  • Fenty (Luxury Fashion Brand)
  • Fenty Beauty (Makeup Brand)
  • Fenty Skin (Skincare Brand)
  • Savage X Fenty (Lingerie Brand)

So where do Rihanna’s perfumes fit into this? Her first perfume was released in 2010 and there is speculation that she will create a new perfume brand to add to her catalog of successful companies.

So far Rihanna has released 11 perfumes, and in this guide, I will be going through her top 5 perfumes to purchase and add to your fragrance collection.

Rogue by Rihanna

ROGUE By Rihanna

“People are always changing and evolving and with Rogue, I wanted to switch it up to reflect who I am today. I made it for all women, for every mood, because we all want to project our true selves.”

Rihanna talking about Rogue by Rihanna

Launched in 2013, this amber, the floral fragrance was a huge hit with fans. Describing itself as being made for “every woman” Rogue gives its wearers strength and beauty throughout the day,

Rogue by Rihanna Quick Fire Review

  • Longevity: 2-3 hours
  • Best season to wear: Winter or Autumn
  • Scent type: Amber, floral fragrance
  • Age recommendation: A more mature scent for an older age group
  • Best worn: Evening out with friends
  • Price: Affordable – £24.45 (All Beauty 125ml)
  • Top notes: Lemon Blossom and Cyclamen
  • Middle notes: Suede, Plum, Rose, and Jasmine
  • Base notes: Patchouli, Vanilla, Musk, Woody Notes, and Amber

Pros

  • Affordable perfume
  • Flirty and sensual scent

Cons

  • Packaging and bottle is not as elegant as her other perfumes
  • Doesn’t appeal to the younger demographic due to its mature scent

What Does it Look Like?

The only thing that lets this perfume down is its bottle design. Designed in an off-brown ‘amber’ color’ it has ROGUE By Rihanna labeled clearly in a rectangle bottle. Its lid looks cheap and there is not much creativity in playing to the scents of this perfume – perhaps they could have added an amber stone to the lid instead.

Besides this letdown, the actual scent is delicious. It’s fruity and musky, giving tones of plum, amber, and lemon blossom.

Final Rating: 8/10 – Affordable price and enticing scent – a great birthday present to buy for a friend.

Rogue Love by Rihanna

Rogue Love by Rihanna

Named after Rihanna’s successful Rogue perfume, Rogue Love had some big shoes to fill. The advertising has Rihanna looking sensual in black and white, contrasting to the light pink bottle. Described as the “exciting feeling of falling in love”, Rogue Love is Rogue’s younger, sweeter fragrance to purchase.

Rogue Love by Rihanna Quick Fire Review

  • Longevity: 1-2 hours
  • Best season to wear: Spring or Summertime
  • Scent type: Peachy, berry scent
  • Age recommendation: All ages, but has a less mature scent so is popular with the younger audience
  • Best worn: Picnic or lunch outside
  • Price: Very affordable – £20.00 (The Fragrance Shop 125ml)
  • Top notes: Peach, Red Berries, and Mandarin Orange
  • Middle notes: Coconut, Honeysuckle, Orchid, and Jasmine Sambac
  • Base notes: Caramel, Vanilla, Amber, and Woody Notes

Pros

  • Very affordable
  • A sweet, fruity fragrance

Cons

  • Weak longevity

What Does it Look Like?

Rogue Love follows the same bottle design as Rogue, however, its colors compliment the perfume perfectly and its lid is in a simple white color that looks elegant and smart.

Again ROGUE LOVE by Rihanna is labeled clearly on the bottle and the liquid is light pink, contrasting beautifully with the white lid. Rogue Love stands out against the black and white photo of Rihanna and was a commercial success after its release.

While the bottle design is more elegant, this peachy fragrance doesn’t last as long which is a letdown. Make sure to keep this perfume on you for re-sprays if you are out. Its tones of red berries and coconuts hit you immediately, leaving an amber scent on you.

Final Rating: 9/10 – Almost a perfect score from me, this fragrance has a smell to die for and its bottle looks elegant, the only thing that lets it down is its weak longevity.

Before we move on from the Rogue range, keep in mind there is also a men’s version of this fragrance called ‘Rogue Man’ – a great birthday present to get for your partner.

Rihanna Reb’l Fleur Love Always

Rihanna Reb’l Fleur Love Always

Rihanna released this fragrance in 2018 and so far is the last fragrance in her collection. It continues from the theme of the first Reb’l Fleur perfume range that started in 2010 (we will get to Reb’l Fleur soon!).

Describing itself as having “deep power and enticing mystery”, Reb’l Fleur Love Always sensual fragrance stands out from the rest.

Rihanna Reb’l Fleur Love Always Quick Fire Review

  • Longevity: 1-2 hours
  • Best season to wear: Wintertime
  • Scent type: Floral, sensual scent
  • Age recommendation: All ages but bottle might put off younger buyers
  • Best worn: Evening out
  • Price: Affordable – £21.95 (All Beauty 100ml)
  • Top notes: Plum, Red Berries, and Peach
  • Middle notes: Coconut, Tuberose, Violet, and Hibiscus
  • Base notes: Vanilla, Patchouli, Amber, and Musk

Pros

  • Affordable fragrance
  • A fresh and sweet scent

Cons

  • Longevity is weak
  • Best worn in the winter

What Does it Look Like?

This perfume is dark and mysterious – quite literally! Its bottle is black and has a unique cylinder shape. With no label insight, it’s down to the box to label the name of the perfume. Rihanna gets away with this though as it is a predecessor to her extremely popular Reb’l Fleur perfume that she launched in 2010.

Its box has the shadow outline of Rihanna and is set at dusk with city lights in the background. This shows the tone of the perfume and even though its scent is floral and links to Rihanna’s island life persona, it is best worn at night as it is has a sensual and sexy scent, with tones of coconut and plum.

Final Rating: 6/10 – A good sequel to Rihanna’s popular Reb’l Fleur perfume but is let down by its weak longevity and dark bottle/box design. The design makes it a difficult perfume to want to wear in the spring or summer months, even though the actual scent is floral and fresh.

Rihanna Reb’l Fleur

Rihanna Reb’l Fleur

“Daring, sexy, and truly memorable, Reb’l Fleur is as much in tune with Barbados-born Rihanna’s roots as it is with the glamour of her present life in New York City.”

Perfume House Parlux describing Rihanna Reb’l Fleur

Launched in 2010, this fragrance was presented to the US market in 2011. Rihanna Reb’l Fleur was created by Caroline Sabas and Marypierre Julien of Givaudan (noses behind Britney Spears fragrances, Calvin Klein & Gap).

This signature perfume helped Rihanna grow her collection to where it is now. It was a hit with fans, as it is affordable and lasts a long time on the wearer.

Rihanna Reb’l Fleur Quick Fire Review

  • Longevity: 4-6 hours
  • Best season to wear: All year round
  • Scent type: Floral, fruity scent
  • Age recommendation: All ages, but might appeal to the older age demographic with its sophisticated bottle design
  • Best worn: Evening out and brunch with the girls
  • Price: More expensive – £29.95 (All Beauty 100ml)
  • Top notes: Peach, Plum, and Red Berries
  • Middle notes: Coconut, Tuberose, Hibiscus, and Violet
  • Base notes: Vanilla, Patchouli, Musk, and Amber

Pros

  • The bottle is glamorous and has a gorgeous design
  • Long longevity

Cons

  • One of Rihanna’s more expensive perfumes
  • Scent similar to other Rihanna perfumes

What Does it Look Like?

In the same cylinder style as Rihanna Reb’l Fleur Love Always, Reb’l Fleur is a lot more glamorous with gold, black, and amber colors wrapped around the bottle including a gold jewelry charm on the bottle lid.

Designed in the shape of a high heel, it has colorful ribbons wrapped around the bottle and the perfume liquid glows amber.

While this perfume is slightly more expensive compared to other Rihanna perfumes, it is worth the price tag as the perfume lasts for a long period. Its coconut and plum scent is floral and rich – a great fragrance for your next brunch out.

Final Rating: 8/10 – Rihanna hits the ball out of the park with her first fragrance. However, over the years she has recycled similar tones in her other perfumes.

Rihanna Nude

Rihanna Nude

Nude was Rihanna’s third fragrance she released. As part of the ‘Reb’l Fleur’ collection, Nude again as the ‘high-heel’ shoe bottle design. Its design and scent make it the perfect daytime fragrance, compared to Rihanna’s other nighttime, mature perfumes.

Rihanna Nude Quick Fire Review

  • Longevity: 2-3 hours
  • Best season to wear:
  • Scent type: Amber, floral fragrance
  • Age recommendation: All ages
  • Best worn: Daytime errands
  • Price: Affordable – £23.50 (All Beauty 100ml)
  • Top notes: Guava, Pear and Mandarin Orange
  • Middle notes: Gardenia, Orange Blossom, and Jasmine Sambac
  • Base notes: Vanilla Orchid, Sandalwood, and Musk

Pros

  • Perfect daytime fragrance
  • Affordable perfume

Cons

  • Could improve on longevity

What Does it Look Like?

Again, this perfume is part of the Reb’l Fleur collection and has the ‘high-heel’ design as her other perfumes do. However, this perfume is more refreshing, sticking to two colors (white and cream) – the colors themselves make it your next go-to daytime fragrance.

Its scent is light and fruity, giving you the feeling of bare skin and fresh sheets with tones of vanilla and musk.

Final Rating: 10/10 – This is my favorite Rihanna fragrance, it’s affordable, perfect for daytime errands, and has tones of vanilla, pear, and musk – what more could you want?

Alternatives to Rihanna’s perfumes

Want to branch out and try other perfumes? Here are some alternatives to Rihanna’s perfumes (that won’t break the bank):

Calvin Klein Euphoria

Calvin Klein Euphoria

Don’t be fooled by this designer perfume, it is affordable and has fruity notes linked to dark and exotic flowers. Launched back in 2005, Calvin Klein Euphoria has a modern, minimalistic bottle design. This perfume won awards for its low price tag (£34.95 All Beauty) and has notes of pomegranate, black orchid and amber.

This amber fragrance links perfectly with most of Rihannas perfumes due to the similarity in scent. Euphoria is described as “mysterious, provocative and exciting” and appeals to fans of Rihanna’s sensual perfumes.

Angel Mugler

Angel Mugler

This perfume is in a striking light blue star shape. Launched back in 1992, Mugler has impressed fans for decades.

This fragrance won the FiFi Award Hall of Fame in 2007 and is packed full of different tones. Angel Mugler has tones of red berries, peach, jasmine and orchid. It is super sweet and affordable (£30.00 Escentual) – go try it for yourself.

Live Irrésistible Givenchy

Live Irrésistible Givenchy

Launched in 2015, actress Amanda Seyfried was the face of the advertising campaign behind this perfume. As part of the Very Irrésistible collection, Live Irrésistible came out as a limited-edition fragrance. The scent has a mixture of fruity, floral, and spicy tones, including pepper, rose, and grapefruit.

It’s more expensive than the Rihanna perfumes, thanks to the designer label Givenchy, (£59.65 All Beauty) but it’s well worth the splurge with its unique glass bottle design and long longevity.

Final Round-Up on Rihanna’s Best Perfumes

  • Rogue: An affordable sensual fragrance that was a hit with fans but the bottle design could have been more elegant.
  • Rogue Love: A peachy, fun fragrance that is super affordable. Keep this perfume close to you as it doesn’t last long on the wearer.
  • Rihanna Reb’l Fleur Love Always Rihanna: A dark and mysterious bottle, which perfume has tones of plum, peach, and coconut. It doesn’t last long and the bottle design doesn’t link to the actual scent of the perfume.
  • Rihanna Reb’l Fleur: Rihanna set a high standard with her first perfume release, its bottle design is gorgeous and its peachy scent lasts all day.
  • Rihanna Nude: One of my favorite Rihanna perfumes, it is the perfect daytime scent and is affordable to buy.

Rihanna Perfume Guide: Final Thoughts

I have given my top five Rihanna perfumes, but there are six more to explore! All of Rihanna’s perfumes are affordable and have a floral, fruity scent.

They have all been a hit with fans, which is why she has been releasing them since 2010. While Rihanna is on a music hiatus, her brands are growing. It is rumored that she will be creating her own perfume brand – I can’t wait to see what she will release next.

In the meantime try out these five perfumes, all of them are affordable and vary in bottle design. Rihanna wants her perfume wearers to feel confident and sexy and these fragrances will do the trick.
