Boucheron Review at a Glance
This scent has been a fan favorite for over 30 years. Boucheron fragrance has kept up with the times by making a new EDP version of Boucheron while keeping the EDT version available for those that love it. The new EDP Boucheron is a slightly less aggressive version of the original. Making it great for those that love the older, mature scent or love the scent but want a softer version.

Boucheron History
Boucheron is a company that started out as a jewelry company by Frederic Boucheron over 150 years ago. Starting in Paris, Boucheron quickly became one of the top jewelers for some of the wealthiest and most famous people in the world. Some people who wore Boucheron jewels included Josephine Baker, Edith Piaf, Grace Kelly, Gwen Stefani, and Ava Gardner.
In 1988, Alain Boucheron decided to start a line of perfumes stating it was ‘a new art for traveling the road of dreams and contemporary sensuality, a new language to exalt emotion, our reason for existing and creating.’ CITE Boucheron created a perfume with the intent to mimic the sparkle of a jewel. From the bottle to the perfume inside.
Selena Quintanilla’s, known as the “Queen on Tejano Music”, the signature scent was Boucheron fragrance perfume. The scent embodies her boldness and feminity. This made it a sought-after perfume when it was released in the late ’80s.

Scent
This perfume takes you on a rollercoaster of scents throughout the day. What starts out as a bold floral, citrus scent turns into a warm vanilla, amber scent by the end of the day. While this scent does better in warmer weather, summer going into fall slightly, it can be worn year-round if you run warmer due to the spicy under notes.
This perfume was recently reinvented to become a fresher scent. The new EDP version was made to be a little less intense than the EDT version. The EDT, original version, is very mature and bold like other perfumes popular from the ’80s. The EDP version has a slightly less floral scent and a more clean, soapy scent.
Both Boucheron perfumes are feminine and stand out. It is very similar to Channel No. 5 and Amarige. It is an elegant scent that is very luxurious. It may be too mature for some and is definitely not for younger ladies that like less floral, woodsy scents.
The aromatic and woody fragrance of Boucheron is a floral scent for women. Introduced in 1988, this scent comes from the design house of Boucheron. At the start are top notes from tagetes, tangerine, orange, bitter orange, asafotida, basil, cassia, lemon, bergamot and apricot.
Design
Each and every bottle is built to mimic Boucheron jewels. Boucheron Eau De Parfum is specifically meant to mimic a blue sapphire jewel set in a golden ring. They do this by putting a deep blue top onto a golden ring that tops a glass, round bottle. The bottle reflects beauty and catches your gaze with dimension in shape.
Francis Deleamont and Jean-Pierre Bethouard created this scent with the goal to embody the dimension of a diamond. I think they have achieved this with Boucheron Paris by creating layers in the scent. The sillage in this perfume is also great. People around you will definitely notice your scent as you you walk away.
Longevity
Boucheron Eau De Parfum can be worn all day long. It will last on your skin until your next shower and will change scents to fit the time of day. When you first apply the perfume, it comes on strong and energized. After a couple of hours, the floral, sweet scent turns into a citrus, spicy smell. By the end of the day, you are enveloped in warm scents that cuddle you in vanilla and amber.
Even though this perfume can last all day, it does come on a little strong. If you are spraying it on and leaving directly after, it can be a bit abrupt. However, about an hour it settles down into a lovely, sweet white floral scent.
Price
With any luxurious perfume brand, the price can be on the upper end. Boucheron’s jewelry and perfume have been worn by some of the wealthiest and most famous people in the world. Therefore it is highly sought after. With this high demand comes to a higher price.
You can find Boucheron Eau De Parfum for a price of $30 to $130 depending on the size you get and where you get it. Getting it from an authorized dealer is always the safest bet as other sellers could be selling watered-down products or old products. Authorized dealers, such as Macy’s and FragranceNet.com, are priced anywhere from $50 to $136.
Where and When to Wear
Boucheron Eau De Parfum is a luxurious scent that transforms throughout the day. Therefore, you can wear it all day long from heading to work in the morning to drinks in the evening. It is also a very elegant scent so it can be worn to any high-class event.
This perfume tends to sit better in the warmer months. It is best to wear this perfume throughout the summer and a little into fall. However, people who tend to run a little warmer can wear this well into the winter due to its spicy undernotes.
Picking a Boucheron Perfume
Boucheron Quatre
Pros:
- Updated scent from the originals
- Beautiful bottle, mimicking the Quatre ring stack
- Less strong and abrupt than Eau De Parfum
Cons:
- Doesn’t last quite as long as Eau De Parfum
Quatre was created to appeal to the younger crowd and is the newest fragrance released in 2015. This perfume has more of a citrusy, sweet scent with woodsy undertones. It’s not quite as strong as Eau De Parfum right off the bat but also doesn’t have the same longevity.
Exude confidence with every spritz of this Boucheron Quatre Pour Homme eau de parfum spray for women, a 2015 release from the house of Boucheron. This elegant scent features a definitive feminine composition to infuse your day with powerful notes that lift your mood and make a big impression.
Boucheron Jaipur
Pros:
- The same change of scent throughout the day
- More of a fruity, sweet scent that morphs into a floral, earthy scent
- Works well in winter as well
Cons:
- Discontinued (Only have what’s available left)
Sadly, Jaipur has been discontinued. So unless Boucheron releases it again, what is left is all there is. Jaipur was released in 1994 and was released to be a sweeter, juicier take on the original Eau De Parfum. This perfume works well during the winter as well as spring, whereas Eau De Parfum is great for summer and fall.
The Boucheron Man distinguishes himself instantly by his classical and refined look and a timeless and universal charm. Classical, Refined, Timeless, Charming.
Boucheron La Collection
Pros:
- Consists of 10 different scent specific perfumes
- Newer release
- Unisex scents
Cons:
- Sillage and Longevity aren’t as good as the others
This line of perfumes is made to be a more specific scent. Unlike the other perfumes available by Boucheron, you can pinpoint one specific scent that these perfumes radiate. La Collection was also created to be a unisex collection. However, with the more specific scent came less longevity.
Boucheron Place Vendome Collection
Pros:
- Elegant scent without being too mature
- Not too feminine
- Has the longevity you get with the original
Cons:
- Very basic scent
Has the floral, fruity scent that you see in other Boucheron perfumes. The difference between this one and the others is it has a softer effect with the addition of honey. Because of its softness, it does seem like more of a basic perfume. It won’t stand out like other Boucheron perfumes.
The fresh and confident fragrance of Place Vendome is a sophisticated yet delicate fragrance for women. The heart is captivating with notes from Jasmine, Praline, Peony and Honey. The base is elegant with notes of Cedar and Benzoin.
Boucheron Serpent Boheme
Pros:
- The newest scent, released in 2020
- A beautiful bottle inspired by a collection of gold and diamond jewelry
- More of a classy, musk smell
Cons:
- Not great sillage
Serpent Boheme is the newest scent released by Boucheron. The bottle was designed from their jewelry line inspired by the Boucheron snake. This is a classy scent that is more conservative. With a more conservative scent, it does not spread as much as other boucheron perfumes.
The rose, woody and captivating scent of Serpent Boheme is an attractive fragrance for women. Launched in 2020, this perfume comes from the house of Boucheron. At the start are fresh hints from black currant and mandarin orange.

Boucheron Perfume Review: The Verdict
Boucheron Eau De Parfum embodies the late 80’s floral scent. It is strong, sweet, and earthy. People are bound to notice the elegant and luxurious scent when you are wearing this perfume. It truly does feel like Boucheron perfumes mimic the dimension of this jewelry company sells.
You can expect to wear this all day long and for it to fit every occasion throughout the day. When it’s first sprayed it has an energetic feeling and turns into a floral, feminine scent. By the end of the day, it has a vanilla, amber scent that cuddles you into the evening.
Even though this perfume is a great perfume technically, it is definitely more for mature women. It reminds me more of Channel No. 5 and other perfumes that older women tend to wear. This isn’t always a bad thing for people though. If you like something more mature and elegant this perfume is for you.
