Style and quality are two of the attributes that Fendi focuses on, including when it comes to the brand’s perfumes. I remember when I first heard about Fendi.

I saw someone wear one of the company’s women’s purses many years ago. It looked stylish and expensive. So, years later, I was ready to try some of the brand’s fragrances to see if I could also find those characteristics in the perfumes.

In today’s guide to the best Fendi perfumes, I talk about some of the company’s most popular scents, their notes, packaging, pros, and cons. In the end, I’ll also state some great Fendi perfume alternatives that are among my top favorite fragrance brands.

• For women – Fan di Fendi because of its lovely and refreshing scent (especially when it comes to the perfume’s floral and fruity notes). Moreover, I love its golden and geometrical bottle; it’s exquisite;
• For men – Fendi Uomo because the formula includes lavender which is among my favorite essential oils. Also, the bottle looks luxurious.

A Few Words About Fendi

Fendi is a popular and reputable fashion house based in Italy. It was created in 1918 by Adele Casagrande. The brand’s name changed in 1925 when Adele married Edoardo Fendi. At first, there was one single shop located in Rome, and it sold furs and leather items. In the 1930s, the business expanded, and several shops were opened all over Italy. This expansion continued during the 1940s.

Adele and Edoardo’s daughters came up with fantastic new business ideas when they took on the company’s responsibility. For example, they were the ones who signed a collaboration contract with the well-known fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld.

I will talk today about some of the best Fendi perfumes, but the brand’s bags were the product category that first caught the public’s attention. Then, several ready-to-wear clothing lines were showcased in the late 1970s. By the end of the 1990s, Fendi had already launched eyeglasses, men’s clothing, denim items, and perfumes.

The first Fendi fragrance appeared in 1985 and was called Fendi for Women. In 1988, the first Fendi men’s perfume came out and was named Fendi Uomo (Uomo meaning man in Italian).

Selection Criteria: I’ve chosen the following Fendi perfumes based on their popularity but, most importantly, on their ingredients and overall quality. Last but not least, their smell is one of the most important aspects to me, so I’ve also considered that.

Best Fendi Perfumes for Women

Furiosa by Fendi

Furiosa stroke me as smoky and spicy. I could sense its pepper notes right from the start. It’s great for fall and winter, but nobody says you can’t wear it during spring, too. However, it’s a niche perfume because I don’t think everyone will like how it smells. The perfume’s body consists of oriental scents, amber, and other woody smells. It lingers on, and it’s permeated by a smoky smell that reminds me of burnt incense.

Furiosa was launched on the market in 2014 and is dedicated to wild women who’re feisty.

Packaging

The bottle looks funny yet unique. It makes me think of a tortoise’s shell; only it’s made of yellow glass and metal mix. The perfume’s main accords are amber and white floral extracts. Unfortunately, Furiosa’s packaging doesn’t have anything special. It’s classic and a bit boring. Or, so I see it.

Perfume’s Scent

• Top notes – Calabrian bergamot and pink pepper – spicy;
• Base notes – Guaiac wood, amber, and incense – smoky and woody;
• Core notes – Gardenia, Wallflower, and Jasmine – sweet and oriental.

Pros

• It provides good value for the money;
• It has a classy yet modern scent, suitable for contemporary women;
• I could easily wear this versatile perfume all year round;
• It has a refined and sweet aroma, just the way I like it.

Cons

• It’s not long-lasting; it has moderate longevity;
• Not all of you might like this perfume’s unique and unusual smell;
• It’s expensive;
• The fragrance isn’t as strong as I would’ve expected.

Fan di Fendi

I love this Fendi perfume bottle. It looks classy, elegant, stylish, refined, and luxurious. I’m super impressed with it. Fan di Fendi has fruity, citrus, floral, and woody notes. It was created in 2010, and its scent makes me think about some of my makeup items, especially my current blush and lip gloss.

Packaging

I am in love with Fan di Fendi’s beautiful bottle design. It’s so classy and timeless. I firmly believe they had a powerful and independent yet feminine and elegant woman in mind when they created this fragrance. Both the scent and the container capture Italy’s spirit and values perfectly. The bottle’s golden color reminds me of valuable gold bars safely kept in a bank’s vault.

Perfume’s Scent

• Top notes – pear, tangerine, and black currant – fruity;
• Base notes – Patchouli and leather;
• Core notes – rose, Jasmine, and tuberose – floral.

Pros

• Its scent is fresh and simply lovely;
• The bottle’s design looks exquisite;
• It’s the perfect romantic gift that a husband or boyfriend could offer their significant other – boy, I wish this was among the Xmas gifts my husband buys for me.

Cons

• Super expensive;
• At this price, for this luxury premium brand, you’d expect the perfume to last longer, but it doesn’t.

Fantasia by Fendi

Fantasia is a Fendi perfume launched in 1996 with floral and fruity notes. I like its sharp and strong fragrance offered by the product’s heart notes which are so vibrating. On the other hand, I didn’t like that I could barely sense the opening notes. They fade away quickly. Fantasia features an intense and dominant scent.

Packaging

Fantasia’s bottle takes me to a chemical or perfumery laboratory where chemists and parfumiers test and try all sorts of extracts and oils to create the perfect fragrance. It resembles a bulky and relatively short test tube. There are red, blue, and green Fantasia bottles to opt from.

Perfume’s Scent

• Top notes – apricot, aldehydes, hyacinth, and bergamot – fruity;
• Base notes – oakmoss, vanilla, Tonka bean, and sandalwood – woody;
• Core notes – rose, Lilly of the Valley, orchid, and Jasmine – floral.

Pros

• It’s more affordable compared to other Fendi perfumes;
• You can choose between three bottle colors – blue, red, or green;
• I like the powerful floral notes included in the perfume’s core;
• It’s gentle on my sensitive skin;
• The way the bottle is designed makes the fragrance keep its intensity longer.

Cons

• It might be too powdery and sweet for some of you;
• Although the perfume isn’t discontinued, it was pretty challenging for me to find it.

L’Acquarossa by Fendi

Fendi launched L’Acquarossa in 2013, a more modern perfume with citrus and floral notes. It’s suitable for daytime and autumn. I fancy the perfume’s sleek and clean bottle design, especially its vibrant red passion color. The face promoting this Fendi fragrance is no other than the well-known Chiara Mastroianni.

Packaging

The bottle looks wonderfully with its red body and black lid. It’s truly elegant through its simplicity and refinement. The golden accents embellish and enhance these traits. In addition, L’Acquarossa has a geometric square-shaped container with gold and engraved ornaments.

Perfume’s Scent

• Top notes – Calabrian bergamot, Sicilian mandarin, and dried plum – fruity;
• Base notes – musk, Patchouli, and red cedar – woody;
• Core notes – orange blossom, rose, magnolia, and lantana – floral.

Pros

• I love the scent of this perfume; it’s fruity yet unique;
• The bottle looks fantastic;
• It features a decent sillage (the smell lingering in the air after someone who wears perfume passes by near you on the street or indoors).

Cons

• It faded way too quickly – I was hoping for a long-wear fragrance;
• The opening notes could feel a bit harsh at first.

Life Essence by Fendi

Fendi launched life Essence in 1996, a very aromatic perfume with spicy, woody, and citrus notes. It’s trendy among Fendi’s male fans, and it’s made to emphasize a man’s masculinity. It could easily be perceived as seductive by women and addictive by men. For a Fendi perfume, this one is medium-priced.

Packaging

The bottle is simple yet elegant, featuring a tall and thin design. It’s transparent and comes with a masculine wooden lid. Even the box’s colors and design are made to mimic wood.

Perfume’s Scent

• Top notes – mandarin orange, lemon, cardamom, bergamot, and coriander – citrus and spices;
• Base notes – sandalwood, cedar, and oak moss – woody;
• Core notes – Jasmine, cypress, geranium, and West Indian bay – plants, herbs, floral.

Pros

• It has a refreshing and lightweight fragrance. Hence, you can wear it every day;
• It’s versatile and suits all skin types without causing rashes or irritations;

• The bottle is too simple and doesn’t seem sophisticated to me;

Fendi Uomo

If you want an aromatic, spicy, woody perfume, Uomo by Fendi might be the one you were searching for. It has an addictive combination of powdery and earthy fragrances. Moreover, it’s perfect for winter nights and autumn evenings. Uomo is one of the brand’s classic perfumes, made in 1988.

Packaging

I love its masculine and strong-looking bottle with its shimmery black color and golden accents. It screams luxury. Interestingly, they chose to keep the middle transparent to see the perfume inside.

• Top notes – lemon, coriander, marjoram, bergamot, lavender, and angelica – mostly floral;
• Base notes – leather, coconut, Patchouli, vanilla, musk, vetiver, cedar, and amber – earthy and woody;

• I love its lavender scent;
• The bottle looks amazing;
• I enjoy the dominant base notes that are musk and leather – I find them very attractive on a man’s skin;

Theorema Uomo by Fendi

Theorema Uomo is a spicy and oriental Fendi perfume made in 2001. It’s great for summer and daytime. Although it’s pretty hard to find this perfume on the market, it’s worth it due to its wonderful fragrance and powerful notes.

It has a modern-looking bottle which I like very much. Simple yet stylish, the container won my appreciation from the first moment I saw it. I also like see-through perfume bottles because it’s easier to check how much you’ve got left. Both the box and the lid have sleek designs and elegant colors.

• Top notes – pepper, cardamom, bergamot, and geranium – sweet and spicy;
• Base notes – labdanum, musk, and amber – earthy, woody;
• Core notes – nutmeg, cedar, and vetiver – woody.

• It offers an ok value for the money, but it’s not great;

Here are some of my favorite Fendi perfume alternatives.

Portrayal Amouage

This Amouage women’s perfume smells incredible and has aromatic accords with floral and vanilla notes. It’s pretty new, actually, being launched in 2019. However, I love its sweet aromatic fragrance and what it stands for. It’s a symbol of discovering your true self and becoming authentic.

I love how it symbolizes women’s cultural liberation that occurred in 1920. I sense a playful refinement in this perfume that focuses on its floral notes.

• Lovely smell;
• Long-lasting;
• Powerful sillage.

Cons

• Expensive.

Desire Me by Escada

I used to buy and wear Escada perfumes a lot back when I was a teenager. Looking back, I feel I was obsessed with this brand’s scents due to their sweet fragrances, which I love. Desire Me is a spicy, sweet, warm perfume that comes in a delightful bottle. It’s highly seductive and contains remarkable notes like chocolate, coffee, citruses, peony (my favorite flower), and honeysuckle.

Pros

• Smells fantastic – I love its sweet notes;
• The packaging features a creative and appealing design;
• More affordable than other brands.

Cons

• Moderate sillage and longevity – it’s not as long-lasting as premium brand perfumes.

Coco Noir by Chanel

Coco Noir is a spicy and woody Chanel perfume with sumptuous blends of floral, vanilla, and citrus notes. It was released in 2012 and came in three available bottle sizes. By the way, the bottle is black and simple yet dark and elegant. It reminds me of old noir movies with mysterious detectives and attractive women.

The perfume contains luminous notes such as geranium, rose, and Patchouli. Tonka beans are also part of the formula and keep the fragrance intriguing.

Pros

• Pretty long-lasting;
• Vibrant scent;
• High-quality ingredients;
• I love its balsamic fragrance.

Cons

• The sillage isn’t strong enough;
• It’s too spicy for my taste;
• I don’t like its strong tobacco scent.

Rosabotanica by Balenciaga

Balenciaga has seen a popularity boost lately, including in the perfume-making department. Many of my friends have already tried at least one Balenciaga perfume. It’s the type of floral and fresh perfume that wins your heart pretty quickly. Rosabotanica was launched in 2013, and the face of the marketing ads was the eccentric and unconventional actress Kristen Stewart. 

It has hyacinth, and fig leaf as top notes and spicy and floral core notes, including rose, cardamom, and pepper. Regarding the base notes, you’ll find patchouli and woody fragrances.

Pros

• I adore the bottle and the box; their vibrant colors and design are mesmerizing;
• Pretty decent sillage and longevity;
• Unique smell that’s fresh, earthy, and spicy for contemporary women;
• It’s uplifting for me.

Cons

• Despite its ok sillage, there are better and more long-lasting options out there;
• The smell is a bit quirky, so some might not fancy it.

Final Notes

I like many Fendi perfumes. But, as you can see, most of them are made with the modern and strong woman in mind. So, for some of you, these scents might feel too powerful, even overwhelming. That occurred with me and the tobacco note in some of these perfumes. My favorite Fendi fragrance for women would be Fan di Fendi due to its wonderful mix of fruity and floral scents.

I can’t say what men would love most since I don’t know how a man would feel about these products. But, if I chose, I’d go with Fendi Uomo due to its lavender notes and classy packaging.
