While I’m not sure anyone can actually accomplish that feat, knowing where to get perfume samples can help you get closer to that goal.

Where to Get Kilian Love Don’t Be Shy Perfume Samples
Getting your hands on niche perfumes can be a challenge, which could lead to a disappointing blind-buy. Samples take the risk way down and leave room in your bank account to try several different perfumes before making a final decision.
MicroPerfumes
I really like that they have options at MicroPerfumes. This is the one I have on my wrist right now. You can choose between:

I love the option with the twist-up nozzle because it’s easy to throw in my bag and go. I don’t worry about it leaking like I do with some other vials and spray bottles. The bottle feels high-quality, there’s weight to it (but not so much it’ll weigh down your purse), and it’s fun to use.

Sephora
This one’s only true if you’re willing to do a little legwork because you’ll have to go to the store for your sample. And even then, if your store doesn’t carry the full-size bottles of Kilian Love Don’t Be Shy, they’re not going to be able to provide a sample.
I recommend checking your local store’s stock on the Sephora website or app before you make the trek to the store. Once you get there, take the advice of the name: Love, don’t be shy; just ask an associate for help. They’ll fill a tiny sample vial with enough perfume to take the fragrance for a whirl–at least for a couple of days.
Sephora can also sell you a mini size (.24 oz) for around $50.00. That’s less than a full bottle by a lot (and possibly perfect if you rotate perfumes a lot or tend to get tired of one scent and move on to another after a few months), but still quite a gamble for something you’re not sure you’ll love.
ScentSplit
At ScentSplit, you can get your hands on a sample for as low as $7.99. Choose from:

The Dossier version will be inspired by the original Kilian Love Don’t Be Shy perfume. Sample sizes aren’t available; you’ll only have the 1.7 oz. bottle option. However, that full bottle will cost less ($39.00) than the mini size at Sephora, so it’s still a good option.
You can get a feel for whether the scent is right up your alley without worrying about running out of juice before you decide, even if you plan to splurge for the full bottle of the real thing later.
Don’t worry, Dossier perfumes don’t smell “fake.”
What Does Kilian Love Don’t Be Shy Smell Like, Anyway?
In a word, happiness. It’s like marshmallows, candy, citrus, and vibrant flowers were poured into a bottle to create the most intoxicating fragrance.
It’s sexy, playful, a little youthful (but not too young–anyone can enjoy it), and can be worn day or night. If I had to choose a season to recommend it for, I’d say spring or summer, but nothing will stop me from wearing it in the fall and winter, too.
When I wear it, my husband and daughter compared it to sugary cereals. One said Lucky Charms and the other said Froot Loops. I get what they’re saying. To me, it’s more like Lucky Charms with a hint of Froot Loops for the fruity factor. Mostly, I smell the sweet marshmallow floating on the warm base of amber and something akin to vanilla, but the fruity notes are undeniable, too.
The official notes are: honeysuckle, rose, marshmallow sugar accord, neroli, and orange blossom.
Perfumes Similar to Kilian Love Don’t Be Shy
- Dolce & Gabbana Pour Femme: If you’re familiar with Dolce & Gabbana Pour Femme, it smells a lot like that one. It’s a little sweeter and less floral than Pour Femme. If the sharp edge of Pour Femme was too much for you (it can trigger migraines in me sometimes) but you loved it and wished that weren’t the case, I do think it’s worth getting your hands on a Kilian Love Don’t Be Shy perfume sample to see if it’s smooth enough to work for you.
- Parfums de Marly Oriana: This one has similar notes. You won’t save much (if any) by choosing this route. However, if Kilian Love Don’t Be Shy is close to your ideal but not quite right, check this one out and compare.
- Be Layered Caramel Overdose: You wouldn’t guess it by the name, but Caramel Overdose doesn’t only smell like sweet, gooey caramel. It’s definitely sweet, but there’s a hint of orange blossom that takes the fragrance up a notch and makes it similar to Love Don’t Be Shy.

Question: Is Kilian Love Don’t Be Shy Worth It?
Answer: I think it is, especially if you have a coupon code that takes the price down a bit, since it is so expensive. I recommend getting your hands on a sample of any perfume you’re interested in first, though, since they all smell different on different people, could trigger migraines, etc. It’s best to know you’re a good match before you drop $200.00+ on a full-size bottle of perfume.
Question: What Perfume Is Like Kilian Love Don’t Be Shy?
Answer: The first one that comes to my mind is Dolce & Gabbana Pour Femme, but it’s not a perfect match. Oriana by Parfums de Marly is close, too, but if you’re looking for a less expensive option, it might not be as helpful as a tip as you’d like (a 1 oz. bottle is $190.00).
The sweet side of Kilian Love Don’t Be Shy reminds me of Aquolina Pink Sugar, but there’s so much more going on with Love Don’t Be Shy. You’d need to layer Pink Sugar with something citrusy and warm to get the same effect (though Pink Sugar Sensual might fit the bill, with its citrus, floral, and sandalwood notes; I’ve never tried that one).
Question: Is Kilian a Niche Perfume?
Answer: Yes, but luckily, it’s one of the easier ones to get your hands on. You can find Kilian Love Don’t Be Shy perfume samples online and even in Sephora, and if you love it, you can purchase your full bottle wherever you got your sample.

You need to smell this one. If you’re here, you probably already knew that, but if you were on the fence about this fragrance, yes, do yourself a favor and try it. I can’t mentally fit it into any one category since it’s sweet, citrusy, floral, sensual, and uplifting all at the same time. It’s one you just need to experience for yourself.
